Cornelis De Maerschalckx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Vissenaekens in the 8th minute of the match. If Hubert Hagemans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Dave Klinkenberg took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Timy Pannekoek to make any attempt to save it. Cornelis De Maerschalckx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vincent Vissenaekens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute, VC Munkzwalm's Chris-George Fondria dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Jose Capellemans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Cornelis De Maerschalckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 26th match minute, Xhendremael was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charlie Mangelschot to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Xhendremael's Vincent Vissenaekens got a free kick in the 28th minute. Cornelis De Maerschalckx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenney Reijnders, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Capellemans in the 31st minute of play forced VC Munkzwalm's goalkeeper Cornelis De Maerschalckx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in VC Munkzwalm's zone, Hubert Hagemans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cornelis De Maerschalckx came out of the goal and Hubert Hagemans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xhendremael's Timy Pannekoek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Xhendremael from getting a goal against them. 46 minutes into the match, Xhendremael's goalkeeper Timy Pannekoek had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Artuur Ingelborchs. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kenney Reijnders stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Hubert Hagemans fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xhendremael's protests and gave Hubert Hagemans a yellow card for diving instead. Hubert Hagemans hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Timy Pannekoek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris-George Fondria in the 56th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind VC Munkzwalm's goalkeeper Cornelis De Maerschalckx, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Xhendremael's Timy Pannekoek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jean-Louis Marichal in the 61st minute of play. Cornelis De Maerschalckx made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Jose Capellemans sent off a good shot on target. Cornelis De Maerschalckx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenney Reijnders in the 72nd minute of play. In the 76th minute, Hubert Hagemans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Kenney Reijnders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the game, Dave Klinkenberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Timy Pannekoek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kenney Reijnders's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cornelis De Maerschalckx read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. If Hubert Hagemans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornelis De Maerschalckx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurice Baumans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jacq De Tapp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cornelis De Maerschalckx read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. VC Munkzwalm's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
