Spectators: 7413 (Terracing: 5635, Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bjorn Neef started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the game, one of Mariembourg:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Mariembourg:s Manuel Uijtterhoven showed great skill when he stopped Bjorn Neef:s penalty. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Bjorn Neef managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Wevelgem's supporters rose to their feet, but Bjorn Neef was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manuel Uijtterhoven breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Bjorn Neef had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute, Tommi van Elderen made a precise shot to the right of Vicente Steenbeeck. SC Wevelgem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After 20 minutes of play, Mariembourg's Timmy Vereyt made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vicente Steenbeeck was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute Bjorn Neef shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Uijtterhoven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Van De Wyngaert hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. If Jan Van der Voert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bjorn Neef blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manuel Uijtterhoven having to make a save. 41 minutes into the match, SC Wevelgem's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre-Olivier Lissens came free, but Vicente Steenbeeck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cornelis Clinckspoor hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. After having played for 45 minutes, Carlos De Custer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Wevelgem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos De Custer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pierre-Olivier Lissens to make the kick off. If Gino Van der Borght had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 53rd minute, Bjorn Neef got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Wevelgem's defense didn't have a chance, in the 58th minute, when Pierre-Olivier Lissens scored to the left of an out of position Vicente Steenbeeck, making the score, 0-3. Tommi van Elderen came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vicente Steenbeeck could save by the left post. Vicente Steenbeeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre-Olivier Lissens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommi van Elderen got free with Vicente Steenbeeck in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gilles Stevens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Bjorn Neef had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bjorn Neef took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manuel Uijtterhoven. Manuel Uijtterhoven dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. After a rather tough play, Mariembourg's Timmy Vereyt got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When Bjorn Neef came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the SC Wevelgem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bjorn Neef couldn't finish the play. In the 87th minute Bjorn Neef shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Uijtterhoven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Mariembourg's zone, Carlos De Custer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Uijtterhoven came out of the goal and Carlos De Custer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bjorn Neef recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Wevelgem's Vicente Steenbeeck proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save SC Wevelgem from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see SC Wevelgem lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
