Spectators: 7351 (Terracing: 5514, Seating: 1690, VIP seats: 147) FC Popollekes's Armand Rijmenans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claude Pelsmaeckers in the 6th minute of play. In the 10th minute Dieter Van den Berge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armand Rijmenans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dieter Van den Berge in the 11th minute of play forced FC Popollekes's goalkeeper Armand Rijmenans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Singelberg's Dieter Van den Berge in the 14th minute got a chance for a shot 14th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Popollekes's goalie prevented a goal. 19 minutes into the match, Edwin Dirckx dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jeffrey Baeten, 1-0. In the 22nd minute, Jef Minnen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edwin Dirckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeffrey Baeten having to interfere. In the 26th minute Edwin Dirckx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Baeten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Gustave Creemers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Edwin Dirckx kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jeffrey Baeten. That made the score 2-0 in the 29 minute of play. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Singelberg's goalkeeper Jeffrey Baeten, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 34th minute, Gustave Creemers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Armand Rijmenans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jef Minnen in the 40th minute of the match. When Gustave Creemers came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the FC Popollekes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustave Creemers couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute of the match, Edwin Dirckx tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jeffrey Baeten saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 47th minute Jef Minnen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armand Rijmenans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Pierre-Paul Postens, 52 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 55th minute, Gilles De Greef hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FC Popollekes booed when Singelberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robben Loosen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Singelberg defense, Edwin Dirckx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jeffrey Baeten. The Singelberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jeffrey Baeten should have stopped the shot. Dieter Van den Berge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, FC Popollekes's Edwin Dirckx got a free kick in the 92nd minute. Dieter Van den Berge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Popollekes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Singelberg had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
