When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Pierrot Konings took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Frits De Jonghe to make any attempt to save it. After 25 minutes, Robbie Renotte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Marchipont and the Stichelen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stichelen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marchipont the free kick. Nestor Decoster hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

52 minutes into the match, Pierrot Konings had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frits De Jonghe. Marchipont's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pierrot Konings was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Jakob Van Eijken blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mark Volle having to make a save. 67 minutes into the match, Marchipont's goal looked a bit too open when Pierrot Konings came free, but Frits De Jonghe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Berten Goethals sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. The supporters of Marchipont booed when Stichelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pieterjan Valckenaerts didn't get a good kick on the ball. Geert-Jan Vermeesch blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mark Volle having to make a save. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stichelen fans cheered their team off the field, for while Marchipont had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
