In the 5th minute Josef De Maijer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dominik Verduin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Josef De Maijer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 22 minutes of play, KV oostende's Dawid Dobrowski made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joop Colebrandts was left in no man's land by his defense there! Birger Van Cauwenbergh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joop Colebrandts having to interfere. Albertus Laches short, quick shot in the 28thth minute got Joop Colebrandts to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to VC Doorn getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Diederick Koppens hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Vandekerkhove in the 30th minute of play forced KV oostende's goalkeeper Dominik Verduin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Birger Van Cauwenbergh recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joop Colebrandts. Birger Van Cauwenbergh showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. In the 37th minute, Martijn Van Landewijck hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joop Colebrandts made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. When Ivo Theunis fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VC Doorn's protests and gave Ivo Theunis a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to VC Doorn getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Ivo Theunis hit a great ball. Josef De Maijer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Dominik Verduin made a huge save. The KV oostende fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when KV oostende's Albertus Lache looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Diederick Koppens took a quick shot and it went in 4-3 without a chance for Dominik Verduin to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of KV oostende booed when VC Doorn was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josef De Maijer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dominik Verduin was out of position in the 81 minute of play, and Josef De Maijer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Josef De Maijer really showed his touch with that goal: 4-4. With an all-out effort, VC Doorn's Dominik Verduin threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Diederick Koppens, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
