The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Oswald Milters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Van der Veeken in the 4th minute of the match. Sergio Van der Veeken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Oswald Milters tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Sergio Van der Veeken ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Oswald Milters was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Sergio Van der Veeken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oswald Milters having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giovanni Van Cauwenberg in the 22nd minute of play forced Zonnegem 's goalkeeper Oswald Milters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Giovanni Van Cauwenberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Oswald Milters. Zonnegem 's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Giovanni Van Cauwenberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Lorenz Van De Look made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tim Gheysen in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, The Mighty Penguins's goal looked a bit too open when Tim Gheysen came free, but Lorenz Van De Look reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oswald Milters showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergio Van der Veeken in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ief Servranckx in the 29th minute of play forced The Mighty Penguins's goalkeeper Lorenz Van De Look to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lorenz Van De Look showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ief Servranckx in the 32nd minute of the match. Sergio Van der Veeken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Oswald Milters made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergio Van der Veeken in the 38th minute. Oswald Milters came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by The Mighty Penguins's Stef Grootaers. But to his dismay, Stef Grootaers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ief Servranckx stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ief Servranckx in the 55th minute of play forced The Mighty Penguins's goalkeeper Lorenz Van De Look to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vincent Van Landewijck kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. In the 60th minute of the game, Stef Grootaers landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Joos Delen's late challenge caught a The Mighty Penguins's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joos Delen helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of The Mighty Penguins booed when Zonnegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joos Delen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sergio Van der Veeken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zonnegem 's Oswald Milters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sergio Van der Veeken in the 65th minute of play. Giovanni Van Cauwenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Zonnegem 's Constant De Vleeschauwer got a free kick in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute of the match Jochen Arnoets shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oswald Milters showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Ief Servranckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergio Van der Veeken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
