Gertjan Caers helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Wasmes getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Gertjan Caers hit a great ball. In the 26th match minute, KV Heuvelgem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrad Rutten to maneuver through the defense. Wasmes's Denis Quinet couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for KV Heuvelgem. An unexpected shot in the 31st minute by Niels Verhasselt got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Niels Verhasselt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xander-Paul Van Looy having to interfere. Niels Verhasselt might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xander-Paul Van Looy. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Niels Verhasselt ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

If Niels Verhasselt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 58 minutes into the match, KV Heuvelgem's goal looked a bit too open when Philippe-Arnaud Van Den Bosch came free, but Xander-Paul Van Looy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Philippe-Arnaud Van Den Bosch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Wasmes's Michel Koten got a free kick in the 96th minute. KV Heuvelgem's Robert Heijligem shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 97th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Maurice Coopmans but with some difficulty. For all the effort they put into the match, the KV Heuvelgem players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Wasmes.
