If Stefaan De Fever had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 19th minute Erik-Jan Reijnders shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolaas Thielens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 21st minute, Ronny Weijnants hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Marbais's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Algoedt came free, but Nicolaas Thielens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Nicolaas Thielens managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Welle's Erik-Jan Reijnders fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The Welle fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Nick Sterckmans got his second yellow card in the match during the 35th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Nicolaas Thielens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tobias Algoedt in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolaas Thielens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 81 minutes into the match, Welle's goalkeeper Fre De Munck had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richard Englebert. In the 83rd match minute, Marbais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Englebert to maneuver through the defense. Lenny Hollants blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nicolaas Thielens having to make a save. Welle's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
