KV Knutsegem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Havay the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of KV Knutsegem:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Havay:s goal. In the 43rd minute there was a penalty for Havay. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Terry De Vlaeminck stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 50 played minutes KV Knutsegem got a freekick which was hit by Terry De Vlaeminck. Guido Vincx's late challenge caught a Havay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain.
