Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. 狄坚坤 started the match with the kick off. When Dieter Stuijckens fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Madrid C.F's protests and gave Dieter Stuijckens a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th match minute, Real Madrid C.F was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dieter Stuijckens to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Evert-Jan Kerkhofs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gelrode's supporters rose to their feet, but Evert-Jan Kerkhofs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rene Verelst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Arnold De Messemaekere received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rene Verelst came out and tried to block the shot, but Arnold De Messemaekere slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. After 15 minutes of play, Real Madrid C.F's Jorg Ghesels made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dimitri Gysens was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dimitri Gysens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorden Vandommele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Evert-Jan Kerkhofs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Evert-Jan Kerkhofs hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, Real Madrid C.F's goalkeeper Rene Verelst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evert-Jan Kerkhofs. 32 minutes into the game, Jo Ingelborgh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gelrode's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Madrid C.F the free kick. Dimitri Gysens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 狄坚坤 in the 40th minute of play. 48 minutes into the game, 狄坚坤 cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Dimitri Gysens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Real Madrid C.F were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Evert-Jan Kerkhofs made the kick off in the second half. Rene Verelst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnold De Messemaekere, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Patryk Kolano kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Rene Verelst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evert-Jan Kerkhofs in the 66th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Evert-Jan Kerkhofs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gelrode's supporters rose to their feet, but Evert-Jan Kerkhofs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rene Verelst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rene Verelst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danny Vercalsteren in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnold De Messemaekere in the 73rd minute of play forced Real Madrid C.F's goalkeeper Rene Verelst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Danny Vercalsteren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rene Verelst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Gelrode's goal looked a bit too open when Jorden Vandommele came free, but Dimitri Gysens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Gelrode defense, 狄坚坤 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dimitri Gysens. The Gelrode fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dimitri Gysens should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Jorg Ghesels took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Dimitri Gysens to make any attempt to save it. Real Madrid C.F played a much better game than Gelrode and deserved their victory. The Gelrode players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
