Romain Van Glabeeke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Romain Van Glabeeke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Refael Van der Vloedt having to interfere. Jacobus Gielens was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. Kv Mechelen's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, AFC Hallaar's Norbert Luijten got a free kick in the 20th minute. Refael Van der Vloedt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Romain Van Glabeeke in the 21st minute. After some careless play in the AFC Hallaar defense, Romain Van Glabeeke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Refael Van der Vloedt. Kv Mechelen were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after AFC Hallaar's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Martinez Murua took the corner. Filip Van De Wiele tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Refael Van der Vloedt. Jacobus Gielens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Refael Van der Vloedt having to interfere. After having played for 96 minutes, Romain Van Glabeeke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kv Mechelen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romain Van Glabeeke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nico Van Beets's late challenge caught a Kv Mechelen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nico Van Beets helped the player get up and apologised. Nico Van Beets kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Kv Mechelen had played much better football throughout.
