The supporters of KVSK Merksem booed when FC Wancennes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yelle De Graef didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the game, Joonatan Jaspers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. When Christiaan Van Looy fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KVSK Merksem's protests and gave Christiaan Van Looy a yellow card for diving instead. Roderik Reynders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorden Montens having to interfere. Giovanny Everts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antoine Roeckeloos in the 39th minute of the match. Giovanny Everts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vince Jenken, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Willy De Roover stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Antoine Roeckeloos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jorden Montens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willy De Roover in the 57th minute of the match. The goal made the score 2-1. 80 minutes into the match, KVSK Merksem's Antoine Roeckeloos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Giovanny Everts narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Willy De Roover might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorden Montens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Willy De Roover ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Wancennes's Giovanny Everts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antoine Roeckeloos in the 87th minute of play. Vince Jenken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Giovanny Everts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antoine Roeckeloos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanny Everts having to interfere.
