The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wayaux's Julius Focquier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henri-Patrick Wils in the 5th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathijs Helsens in the 8th minute of play forced Wayaux's goalkeeper Julius Focquier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bartjan Van Beveren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Wolfs having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Mathijs Helsens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julius Focquier was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Pieter-Maarten Servrancx received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Patrick Wolfs came out and tried to block the shot, but Pieter-Maarten Servrancx slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 21st minute. A collision led to Wayaux getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Bryan Schepens hit a great ball. Wayaux's Julius Focquier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathijs Helsens in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SK Boseind's Herald Mestdagh got a free kick in the 30th minute. The long shot by Lucas Van Espen in the 31st minute really tested Patrick Wolfs's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With his leg Patrick Wolfs managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Wayaux's Bartjan Van Beveren fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 42 played minutes SK Boseind got a freekick which was hit by Dyllan Colebinders. If Bartjan Van Beveren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pieter-Maarten Servrancx made a kick off. SK Boseind's Patrick Wolfs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartjan Van Beveren in the 54th minute of play. Patrick Wolfs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pieter-Maarten Servrancx in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Pieter-Maarten Servrancx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wayaux's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pieter-Maarten Servrancx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Henri-Patrick Wils could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Julius Focquier made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bartjan Van Beveren in the 74th minute of play forced SK Boseind's goalkeeper Patrick Wolfs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Patrick Wolfs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pieter-Maarten Servrancx in the 75th minute of the match. Henri-Patrick Wils sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 80th minute, Mathijs Helsens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bartjan Van Beveren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Patrick Wolfs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bartjan Van Beveren struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Patrick Wolfs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wayaux. After a defensive mix-up in SK Boseind's zone, Bartjan Van Beveren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Wolfs came out of the goal and Bartjan Van Beveren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bartjan Van Beveren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Wolfs having to interfere. 96 minutes into the game, Matteo Thielemans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wayaux's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SK Boseind the free kick. Matteo Thielemans hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. SK Boseind's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
