Spectators: 7491 (Terracing: 5619, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Raymond Van Gysel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cedric Van de Weijer's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Achilles De Middeleer took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alfred Van Herck. Alfred Van Herck dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Achilles De Middeleer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfred Van Herck having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Achilles De Middeleer in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alfred Van Herck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 13 played minutes RSC Anderlecht got a freekick which was hit by Denis Waterloos. 17 minutes into the match, Cederik Nilis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfred Van Herck. RSC Anderlecht's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cederik Nilis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Alfred Van Herck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cederik Nilis, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Achilles De Middeleer made a precise shot to the right of Alfred Van Herck. RSC Anderlecht's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. When Achilles De Middeleer came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the FVV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Achilles De Middeleer couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in RSC Anderlecht's zone, Achilles De Middeleer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfred Van Herck came out of the goal and Achilles De Middeleer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 32 minutes of play, FVV's Achilles De Middeleer made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alfred Van Herck was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 35th minute, Achilles De Middeleer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FVV fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. The audience was convinced that Achilles De Middeleer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfred Van Herck was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Achilles De Middeleer in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfred Van Herck saved RSC Anderlecht from getting behind. After a rather tough play, RSC Anderlecht's Cedric Van de Weijer got a free kick in the 44th minute. If Achilles De Middeleer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The wind increased when Achilles De Middeleer made the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes RSC Anderlecht's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Achilles De Middeleer who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on FVV's corner Cederik Nilis fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Alfred Van Herck quite easily take care of the ball. Achilles De Middeleer succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 55th playminute. FVV's Cederik Nilis got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 59 played minutes FVV got a freekick which was hit by Diedrik Van Den Eijnde. 64 minutes into the match, FVV's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Waterloos came free, but Raymond Van Gysel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernt Ingelborgh hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Elias Van Engelen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the game, Garry Van Brussel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FVV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RSC Anderlecht the free kick. Garry Van Brussel hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. The supporters of RSC Anderlecht booed when FVV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garry Van Brussel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute of the match Henri-Xavier Vranckx sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raymond Van Gysel skillfully saved the ball. Alfred Van Herck made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Achilles De Middeleer sent off a good shot on target. Garry Van Brussel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Alfred Van Herck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfred Van Herck was a little too slow when Cederik Nilis got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 0-8. Alfred Van Herck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Achilles De Middeleer's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Alfred Van Herck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Achilles De Middeleer in the 89th minute. The throw-in from Henri-Xavier Vranckx in the 91st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FVV's Artemio Gonchan. After having played for 93 minutes, Cederik Nilis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FVV's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cederik Nilis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match was over FVV could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than RSC Anderlecht throughout the match.
