Samuel Flocquier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rein Marant in the 24th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Balgerhoeke's zone, Rein Marant stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Flocquier came out of the goal and Rein Marant tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute, Laurens Hollandts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. KFC Balgerhoeke's Jose Vanneste couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 34th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for KVSK Attenrode. After 37 minutes of play, KFC Balgerhoeke's Maurice Neef made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sean Philippaerts was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the KFC Balgerhoeke defense, Stan Vuerinckx kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Flocquier. The KFC Balgerhoeke fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Flocquier should have stopped the shot. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. Maurice Neef's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sean Philippaerts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. Rein Marant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Refael Van Hoght fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KFC Balgerhoeke's protests and gave Refael Van Hoght a yellow card for diving instead.
