Spectators: 7386 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 30) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Louis Artois started the match with the kick off. After having played for 3 minutes, Jerom Van Looy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coba de Gymnasia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerom Van Looy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 7 minutes, Charlie Gysens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coba de Gymnasia and the FC Waarmaarde players grew even worse after the yellow card. Charlie Gysens hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute Yens Deman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eduino Leyva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduino Leyva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Van der Weijden in the 14th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mümin Saik in the 16th minute of play forced FC Waarmaarde's goalkeeper Eduino Leyva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Coba de Gymnasia's Stanny Van der Voert got control of the ball when Remo Tepedino tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, FC Waarmaarde's goal looked a bit too open when Yens Deman came free, but Eduino Leyva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute, Mümin Saik got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Waarmaarde's Eduino Leyva played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yens Deman in the 27th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mümin Saik in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eduino Leyva saved FC Waarmaarde from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivan Gelens during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Coba de Gymnasia booed when FC Waarmaarde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Gelens didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Coba de Gymnasia's goalkeeper Stanny Van der Voert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Remo Tepedino. After 36 minutes, Mats Van der Weijden mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coba de Gymnasia and the FC Waarmaarde players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Coba de Gymnasia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mats Van der Weijden to maneuver through the defense. Louis Artois recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Louis Artois had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Yens Deman made the kick off in the second half. Remo Tepedino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Remo Tepedino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd match minute, Coba de Gymnasia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mats Van der Weijden to maneuver through the defense. The FC Waarmaarde manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Coba de Gymnasia to win.
