In the 56th minute, Walmir Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Carolo Nardo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jaques Impens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Gobbelijns, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. The supporters of RRC Havelange booed when RSC Malmedy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garry Van Leemputt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierre-Olivier Verdeyen was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tommi Antheunis. After a defensive mix-up in RSC Malmedy's zone, Walmir Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pierre-Olivier Verdeyen came out of the goal and Walmir Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tommi Antheunis hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Carolo Nardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. RRC Havelange's supporters rose to their feet, but Carolo Nardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pierre-Olivier Verdeyen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 93 minutes into the match, RSC Malmedy's goalkeeper Pierre-Olivier Verdeyen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Neves. In the 95th minute, RRC Havelange's Walmir Neves ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pierre-Olivier Verdeyen. Pierre-Olivier Verdeyen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. RRC Havelange walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
