Danny Luijten showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julien Geraerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. In the 7th minute, Jacky van Bedts ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jaques Impens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Jacky van Bedts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jaques Impens having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Herseaux's Mathis Jespers got a free kick in the 18th minute. In the 22nd minute Gustave Biesen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaques Impens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the RRC Havelange defense, Jacky van Bedts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jaques Impens. The RRC Havelange fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jaques Impens should have stopped the shot. After 34 minutes, Julien Geraerts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the RRC Havelange and the Herseaux players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 35th minute, Julien Geraerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacky van Bedts in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jaques Impens prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Yves Thielemans's late challenge caught a RRC Havelange's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yves Thielemans helped the player get up and apologised. Walmir Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Stefan Schoutens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carolo Nardo made a kick off. After a rather tough play, RRC Havelange's Tommi Antheunis got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Danny Luijten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carolo Nardo in the 56th minute of play. RRC Havelange's Jaques Impens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save RRC Havelange from getting a goal against them. After 66 played minutes Herseaux got a freekick which was hit by Nestor Van Collenborgh. If Carolo Nardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 70 minutes, Carolo Nardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. RRC Havelange's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carolo Nardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. RRC Havelange's Jaques Impens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yves Thielemans in the 72nd minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Jacky van Bedts notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of RRC Havelange's Jaques Impens. Jaques Impens was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 78 minutes, Ron Quinet mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Herseaux and the RRC Havelange players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ron Quinet hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Tommi Antheunis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Danny Luijten. Herseaux's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Danny Luijten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Neves in the 80th minute of play. Carolo Nardo took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Danny Luijten. Danny Luijten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Jaques Impens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustave Biesen in the 87th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of RRC Havelange:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Herseaux:s goal. The RRC Havelange fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Herseaux were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
