The supporters of KV Dribbel booed when Komen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulus Van Gorpt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in KV Dribbel's zone, Paulus Van Gorpt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basiel Fabry came out of the goal and Paulus Van Gorpt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pieter-Jan Meulemans's late challenge caught a Komen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pieter-Jan Meulemans helped the player get up and apologised. Pieter-Jan Meulemans kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Arthur Selleslags who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Isidoor Kerckmans when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Komen's Isidoor Kerckmans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Komen from getting a goal against them. If Jannic Van der Veeren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tijs De Geest to make the kick off.
