Loui Vanden Driessche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Ward Ryers tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Werner Smeyers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ronny Van der Vorst in the 32nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Remco Van Maestricht in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Werner Smeyers saved Gijzelbrechtegem from getting behind. Gijzelbrechtegem's Werner Smeyers proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Gijzelbrechtegem from getting a goal against them. After 42 minutes, Garry Cockx mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Vorsen and the Gijzelbrechtegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gijzelbrechtegem's Werner Smeyers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remco Van Maestricht in the 46th minute of play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Loui Vanden Driessche to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Remco Van Maestricht shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Werner Smeyers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 62nd minute, Qwinten Dhollander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, Gijzelbrechtegem's goal looked a bit too open when Ronny Van der Vorst came free, but Werner Smeyers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Werner Smeyers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronny Van der Vorst, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jaspar Petermans took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Werner Smeyers. After having played for 82 minutes, Ronny Van der Vorst managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Vorsen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronny Van der Vorst was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Vorsen's zone, Diederiek Minnen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ward Ryers came out of the goal and Diederiek Minnen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ward Ryers was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Mickael De Meesemaeckere showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 87 minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Ward Ryers successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Remco Van Maestricht had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
