In the 3rd minute, Donkerput's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bass Vanden Bussche fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 15 minutes into the game, Guido Bastiaens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Maurus Van Maestricht was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julien Andries kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. A hard shot by Gustave Waeberghe from long distance, 20 minutes into the match, got Tim-Jan Van den Broeck's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Tibaut Lenoir might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tim-Jan Van den Broeck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tibaut Lenoir ran back to his position shaking his head. Bass Vanden Bussche struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Tim-Jan Van den Broeck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Pinte . Donkerput's Tim-Jan Van den Broeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tibaut Lenoir in the 35th minute of play. After some careless play in the De Pinte defense, Charles-Antoine Jannis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maurus Van Maestricht. The De Pinte fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maurus Van Maestricht should have stopped the shot. Guido Bastiaens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurus Van Maestricht having to interfere. After 44 minutes, Niki Vanneste mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the De Pinte and the Donkerput players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to De Pinte getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Niki Vanneste hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as De Pinte 's Tibaut Lenoir slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tim-Jan Van den Broeck. That made the score 2-2 after 47 minutes of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tibaut Lenoir to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Donkerput got a freekick which was hit by Nicolas Huytterhoeven. Tim-Jan Van den Broeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bass Vanden Bussche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Bass Vanden Bussche had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tim-Jan Van den Broeck. Donkerput's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bass Vanden Bussche was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. With 61 minutes on the clock, Vince Wijnants commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee gave De Pinte a penalty, 63 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Gustave Waeberghe, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Donkerput's Tim-Jan Van den Broeck. 4-2. In the 77th minute, Bass Vanden Bussche ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tim-Jan Van den Broeck was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Henk Libesoons got free with Maurus Van Maestricht in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tibaut Lenoir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Tim-Jan Van den Broeck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Guido Bastiaens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurus Van Maestricht having to interfere. 93 minutes into the game, Tibaut Lenoir cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-2. Tim-Jan Van den Broeck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tim-Jan Van den Broeck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tibaut Lenoir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. De Pinte 's Bass Vanden Bussche got a good chance for a goal in the 99th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. De Pinte walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
