Spectators: 7095 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 95) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Brend Rix started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute Danilo Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jurgen Van Essche saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Emanuel De Hoef had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matty Vinx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenney Tijs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute, Florian Huybreghts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 15 minutes into the match, FC Mathis's goal looked a bit too open when Kenney Tijs came free, but Matty Vinx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stephan Blommaert in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Matty Vinx, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 22 minutes into the game, Brend Rix cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jurgen Van Essche was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stephan Blommaert got free with Matty Vinx in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Koekentroef defense, Florian Huybreghts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jurgen Van Essche. The Koekentroef fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jurgen Van Essche should have stopped the shot. After 32 minutes of play, FC Mathis's Emanuel De Hoef made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jurgen Van Essche was left in no man's land by his defense there! Stephan Blommaert kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 47 minutes into the game, one of FC Mathis:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Koekentroef a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Steve Van Emelen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Mathis's Matty Vinx. 1-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kenney Tijs was the one to do the kick off. Brend Rix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Jurgen Van Essche tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matty Vinx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephan Blommaert in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Niels Vrijdag hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 63 minutes into the game, Koekentroef's Stephan Blommaert nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Matty Vinx made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. After 67 played minutes Koekentroef got a freekick which was hit by Niels Vrijdag. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenney Tijs in the 71st minute of play forced FC Mathis's goalkeeper Matty Vinx to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jurgen Van Essche made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Danilo Sampaio sent off a good shot on target. Kenney Tijs took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Matty Vinx. Matty Vinx dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-4. The referee felt a red card was in order, 88 minutes into the game, when Guy Nagels put in a rough tackle. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
