After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Tim Debruyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Poepsnor's supporters rose to their feet, but Tim Debruyn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Axel De Coster breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tom Van Meerbeec stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Berten Colebrandts's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Tom Van Meerbeec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Berten Colebrandts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Berten Colebrandts received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Tim Debruyn sped through Grimbergen's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Axel De Coster. Jacque Van Aerschot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Axel De Coster having to interfere. Tim Debruyn took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Axel De Coster. Axel De Coster dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Ritchie Marrant hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Stefaan Helssens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Berten Colebrandts was the one to do the kick off. The referee ignored FC Poepsnor's protests and gave Lennart Berghmans a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Lennart Berghmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Poepsnor's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
