Cesar Pelsmaeckers's late challenge caught a Red Star Waasland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cesar Pelsmaeckers helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Karşıyaka SK's Cesar Pelsmaeckers got a free kick in the 6th minute. İnanç İdrisoğlu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 18 minutes into the match, Karşıyaka SK's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Manny came free, but İnanç İdrisoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Toon Hairpoel hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute Joost De Raeijmaecker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but İnanç İdrisoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Red Star Waasland's Loid Meulders proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Red Star Waasland from getting a goal against them. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucien De Witte made a kick off. The referee showed Serge Wauters the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 74 played minutes Karşıyaka SK got a freekick which was hit by Serge Wauters. Karşıyaka SK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 76th minute, when Manuel Manny scored to the left of an out of position İnanç İdrisoğlu, making the score, 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucien De Witte in the 80th minute of play forced Red Star Waasland's goalkeeper Loid Meulders to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karşıyaka SK's Max Pauwels was substituted for Cesar Pelsmaeckers. Greg De Potter charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Greg De Potter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Karşıyaka SK booed when Red Star Waasland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Greg De Potter didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Red Star Waasland had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
