Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sammy Vinck kicked off to start the match. Willem-Jan Leroy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Kristof Vaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kristof Vaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willem-Jan Leroy, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Vinck in the 16th minute of play forced Rotselaar's goalkeeper Yanick Lombaert to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 20 minutes, Philippe-Arnaud Samyn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Abeelhoek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Philippe-Arnaud Samyn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Yanick Lombaert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sammy Vinck, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. When Abeelhoek's Viktor Pannekoek in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rotselaar's goalie prevented a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Viktor Pannekoek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abeelhoek's supporters rose to their feet, but Viktor Pannekoek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yanick Lombaert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Willem-Jan Leroy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Kristof Vaes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Abeelhoek's goal looked a bit too open when Willem-Jan Leroy came free, but Kristof Vaes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 36 played minutes Abeelhoek got a freekick which was hit by Jannis Tombeur. Rotselaar's Godfried Maeijnaerts got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Viktor Pannekoek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yanick Lombaert having to interfere. Godfried Maeijnaerts struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Kristof Vaes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rotselaar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Willem-Jan Leroy was the one to do the kick off. 0-1 became the score in the 53rd minute when Viktor Pannekoek elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 58 minutes into the match, Abeelhoek's Sammy Vinck sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yanick Lombaert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Christiaan De Loose charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christiaan De Loose the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 62nd minute of the match Abel Vinckx sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Yanick Lombaert skillfully saved the ball. Willem-Jan Leroy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kristof Vaes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Viktor Pannekoek notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Rotselaar's Yanick Lombaert. Yanick Lombaert was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abel Vinckx kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Kristof Vaes came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Rotselaar's Joey Oelemans. But to his dismay, Joey Oelemans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Kristof Vaes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Godfried Maeijnaerts went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in Abeelhoek's zone, Willem-Jan Leroy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kristof Vaes came out of the goal and Willem-Jan Leroy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
