Spectators: 7395 (Terracing: 5583, Seating: 1712, VIP seats: 100) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cornelis Reynders took the kick off in the first half of the match. Cederik Jansens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Mario Van Eijken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 4 played minutes Chestion got a freekick which was hit by Stefaan Putman. Mario Van Eijken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cederik Jansens in the 7th minute of play. Chestion's Mario Van Eijken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cederik Jansens in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of KV Wingene booed when Chestion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffe Correyns didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 16 played minutes Chestion got a freekick which was hit by Steffe Correyns. Chestion's Mario Van Eijken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cederik Jansens in the 22nd minute of play. Mario Van Eijken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Olemans, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Stefaan Putman's late challenge caught a KV Wingene's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stefaan Putman helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes Chestion got a freekick which was hit by Stefaan Putman. After the first half KV Wingene were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cederik Jansens made a kick off. If Klaas Costermans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cornelis Reynders sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommy Valckeneers got free with Mario Van Eijken in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Mario Van Eijken managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when KV Wingene's Tommy Valckeneers fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The attack was good, but when Cornelis Reynders in the 62nd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Cornelis Reynders fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilian Melkval having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in KV Wingene's zone, Klaas Costermans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilian Melkval came out of the goal and Klaas Costermans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to KV Wingene getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Charlie Van Houdtvinck hit a great ball. Cornelis Reynders might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilian Melkval. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cornelis Reynders ran back to his position shaking his head. Charlie Van Houdtvinck kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. Cornelis Reynders recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Chestion's Mario Van Eijken got control of the ball when Wesley Olemans tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chestion's Mario Van Eijken proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Chestion from getting a goal against them. KV Wingene's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
