Laurenz Geerts guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 13 played minutes FC Affligem got a freekick which was hit by Thobias Poets. In the 18th minute Geordy Heijligen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurenz Geerts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Laurenz Geerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geordy Heijligen in the 29th minute of play. In the 35th minute Conrad Focquier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thierry Sterkx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FC Affligem booed when U18 Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartjan van Haecht didn't get a good kick on the ball. FC Affligem's Alain Verduijn got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Conrad Focquier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mike Wery charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 66thth minute of the game Sem Vounckx who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Affligem's Laurenz Geerts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Conrad Focquier managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Affligem's supporters rose to their feet, but Conrad Focquier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thierry Sterkx breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thierry Sterkx took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alain Verduijn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute, Siebe De Coster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, FC Affligem's goalkeeper Laurenz Geerts had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geordy Heijligen.
