The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franky Fossaert during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Franky Fossaert hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Kenn Portai, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Paul-Louis Demeester came out of the goal and Nic De Vriendt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paul-Louis Demeester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nick Caes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Marnix Aerts made the kick off in the second half. Franky Fossaert was shown his second yellow card after 51 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 52nd minute, Franky Fossaert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jean Sterckmans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nick Caes hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the game, Marnix Aerts cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Denis Struelens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jean Gijselinkx kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Renzo Declerck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Denis Struelens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Denis Struelens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renzo Declerck in the 94th minute of play.
