Marnix Aerts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacq Van Linthaudt in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paul-Louis Demeester prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kenn Portai's late challenge caught a Thuin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kenn Portai helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th minute of the match, Marnix Aerts tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Brend Coenen saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Jacq Van Linthaudt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thuin's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacq Van Linthaudt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul-Louis Demeester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, KV Fontenoy's Octave Van Hoght got a free kick in the 44th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacq Van Linthaudt to make the kick off. Marnix Aerts might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brend Coenen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marnix Aerts ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Renzo Declerck managed to get in a good position for a shot. KV Fontenoy's supporters rose to their feet, but Renzo Declerck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guido Dillemans took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brend Coenen. Thuin's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kenn Portai was shown his second yellow card after 89 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 92nd minute, Jasper Versluys left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thuin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Thuin walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
