Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) SK Opbeek's Kasper Bouwmans started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Daevy Van Herck charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daevy Van Herck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 2nd match minute, SK Opbeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daevy Van Herck to maneuver through the defense. 6 minutes into the game, Billie Wuttemans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SK Opbeek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SK Mellier the free kick. In the 6th match minute, SK Opbeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billie Wuttemans to maneuver through the defense. Aime De Wever stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Erik-Jan Schautens's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Aime De Wever took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robbin Van der Voert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 12 played minutes SK Mellier got a freekick which was hit by Ernst Panhuyse. Richard Goffyn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erik-Jan Schautens got free with Aime De Wever in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erik-Jan Schautens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Teun Vrijdag kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Gerrit De Mesemaekre took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 23rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aime De Wever. SK Opbeek's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of SK Mellier booed when SK Opbeek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gert Degens didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute of the match Dante Boede shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aime De Wever showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Erik-Jan Schautens dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Aime De Wever, 1-0. After having played for 30 minutes, Erik-Jan Schautens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SK Mellier's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erik-Jan Schautens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 32 minutes into the game, Erik-Jan Schautens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Aime De Wever was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Philip Van Lancker struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Aime De Wever didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SK Mellier. The crowd rose to their feet as SK Mellier's Erik-Jan Schautens slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Aime De Wever. That made the score 3-0 after 39 minutes of play. In the 42nd minute, Robbin Van der Voert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sven Hensmans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasper Bouwmans, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erik-Jan Schautens to make the kick off. After some careless play in the SK Opbeek defense, Erik-Jan Schautens kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aime De Wever. The SK Opbeek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aime De Wever should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice moves Richard Goffyn could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Sven Hensmans however easily saved by the left post. 62 minutes into the match, SK Mellier's goal looked a bit too open when Diederiek Switten came free, but Sven Hensmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 64 played minutes SK Mellier got a freekick which was hit by Frederick Swartenbroekx. Erik-Jan Schautens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aime De Wever having to make a save. If Erik-Jan Schautens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Erik-Jan Schautens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aime De Wever read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After 94 played minutes SK Opbeek got a freekick which was hit by Gert Degens.
