The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Lenny Stroobant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kolegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenny Stroobant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 5th minute Dave Montens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hendrik-Jan Thys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hendrik-Jan Thys made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Joannes Jaddon sent off a good shot on target. Charles La Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Leenknecht having to interfere. In the 12th minute Charles La Rose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Leenknecht saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of fc bonjovi booed when Kolegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Montens didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kolegem's zone, Charles La Rose stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henry Leenknecht came out of the goal and Charles La Rose tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute Charles La Rose shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Leenknecht saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dieter Buyck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Leenknecht having to interfere. Dieter Buyck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dieter Buyck to strike the kick off in the second half. Charles La Rose in the 54thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Henry Leenknecht, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The penalty shot was made by Steven Jacobs, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of fc bonjovi's Hendrik-Jan Thys. 1-1. Hendrik-Jan Thys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenny Stroobant in the 78th minute of play. Hendrik-Jan Thys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenny Stroobant, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Charles La Rose received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Henry Leenknecht tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emiel Ceusters hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Kolegem's Henry Leenknecht proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Kolegem from getting a goal against them. Charles La Rose fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Leenknecht having to interfere. Charles La Rose took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henry Leenknecht. Henry Leenknecht dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. fc bonjovi played a much better game than Kolegem and deserved their victory. The Kolegem players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
