In the 41st minute, Tommas Huijgens reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mathieu Bruyninckx. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 47th match minute, VC Nieuwpoort was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustave Rondou to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Steven Van Eijken was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
