But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Berten vrolijx couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rocky Smekens in the 27th minute of play forced RC Reppel's goalkeeper Rolf Van Brusselen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Philippe-Arnaud Neesens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan-Simon Pannekoek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the game, Rocky Smekens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Rolf Van Brusselen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 37 minutes into the game, Jordy Owerckx was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RC Reppel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KV Mechelen the free kick. After 38 played minutes RC Reppel got a freekick which was hit by Jordy Owerckx. 43 minutes into the match, RC Reppel's goal looked a bit too open when Rocky Smekens came free, but Rolf Van Brusselen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. RC Reppel were furious when Ive Pelsers was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 44th minute, one of RC Reppel:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for RC Reppel.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jan-Simon Pannekoek to make the kick off. 57 minutes into the game, Rocky Smekens cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Rolf Van Brusselen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 60 played minutes RC Reppel got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Simon Pannekoek. In the 62nd minute Robert Tkint shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolf Van Brusselen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolf Van Brusselen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steve Stercks in the 66th minute. In the 67th minute, Jannis Van Beets got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jan-Simon Pannekoek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. When Ding Dong fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KV Mechelen's protests and gave Ding Dong a yellow card for diving instead. Ding Dong hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Rocky Smekens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Rolf Van Brusselen made a huge save. 82 minutes into the game, Balthazar De Boel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RC Reppel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KV Mechelen the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in RC Reppel fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute.
