Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jens de Neutere in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brend Hemelaers prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 15 played minutes ESPIRITO SANTO got a freekick which was hit by Ewout Van Lint. Brend Hemelaers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guust Van dooren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gert Rogiers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brend Hemelaers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 37 minutes into the game, Meersel's Jens de Neutere nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brend Hemelaers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Gert Rogiers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brend Hemelaers having to interfere. Brend Hemelaers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert Rogiers, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Ewout Van Lint kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gert Rogiers made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Meersel's Gert Rogiers ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Brend Hemelaers. Brend Hemelaers yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. In the 56th minute, ESPIRITO SANTO's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gert Rogiers fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Brend Hemelaers was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gert Rogiers showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 61 minute of play. ESPIRITO SANTO's Brend Hemelaers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gert Rogiers in the 64th minute of play. In the 65thth minute of the game Gert Rogiers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ESPIRITO SANTO's Brend Hemelaers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Serge Huijghens hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Brend Hemelaers made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Guust Van dooren sent off a good shot on target. After 81 minutes of play, Meersel's Jens de Neutere made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brend Hemelaers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Brend Hemelaers made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Jens de Neutere sent off a good shot on target. 92 minutes into the game, Jens de Neutere cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-10. Brend Hemelaers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, ESPIRITO SANTO's Serge Huijghens got a free kick in the 95th minute. When the match was over Meersel could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ESPIRITO SANTO throughout the match.
