After a rather tough play, Royal Antwerp F. C.'s Luckas Wils got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute, Iwo Gargasz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Dante Seveneijns put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rik Gyselinck. The crowd rose to their feet as Dante Seveneijns kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rik Gyselinck. That made the score 3-0 in the 25 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Dante Seveneijns put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rik Gyselinck. Luckas Wils's late challenge caught a KAA Meulebeke's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luckas Wils helped the player get up and apologised. 34 minutes into the match, Felix Coekx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rik Gyselinck. KAA Meulebeke's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Coekx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. The supporters of KAA Meulebeke booed when Royal Antwerp F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luckas Wils didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rik Gyselinck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Seveneijns in the 39th minute of the match. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jacq Hoes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luckas Wils received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Rik Gyselinck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rik Gyselinck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mike Dussolier, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind KAA Meulebeke's goalkeeper Rik Gyselinck, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacq Hoes during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. When Remi De Geyter fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal Antwerp F. C.'s protests and gave Remi De Geyter a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Royal Antwerp F. C.'s Remi De Geyter got a free kick in the 88th minute.
