Spectators: 7491 (Terracing: 5619, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Zeca Machado took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Yanick Verhaghe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Camiel Verstuyft saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camiel Verstuyft took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yanick Verhaghe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Camiel Verstuyft showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominik Devaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Dominik Devaux hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Zeca Machado's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Remie Philippaerts was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnold Raedemaeckers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Remie Philippaerts. That made the score 1-1 in the 23 minute of play. Arnold Raedemaeckers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeca Machado had several of the AFC Meerendre's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 30 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Remie Philippaerts as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 37th match minute, AFC Meerendre was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rajmond Van Deijck to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute of the match, Rene Marichal got a very nice opportunity to score, but Remie Philippaerts was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The wind increased when Yanick Verhaghe made the kick off in the second half. Zeca Machado took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Remie Philippaerts. Remie Philippaerts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Arnold Raedemaeckers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remie Philippaerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeca Machado in the 69th minute of play. A collision led to AFC Meerendre getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ive Sterckmans hit a great ball. Pieterjan Switten hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 77 minutes into the game, Arnold Raedemaeckers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Remie Philippaerts was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Zeca Machado put it in 6-1 from a short distance just to the right of Remie Philippaerts. After 87 played minutes AFC Meerendre got a freekick which was hit by Victor Kuppens. After a rather tough play, KV Hove's Pieterjan Switten got a free kick in the 88th minute. KV Hove's Camiel Verstuyft played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yanick Verhaghe in the 89th minute of play. AFC Meerendre's Remie Philippaerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeca Machado in the 91st minute of play. Camiel Verstuyft was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Yanick Verhaghe capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Yanick Verhaghe really showed his touch with that goal: 6-2. When the referee ended the match the KV Hove players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
