In the 2nd minute, Sammy Van de Gaer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jerome Baele showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy van Eycken in the 4th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Tommy van Eycken got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hemiksem's Sammy Van de Gaer got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hemiksem were furious when Wes Van Hole was red carded, 25 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 24 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hemiksem! When Karel Van Campenhout fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wipelgem's protests and gave Karel Van Campenhout a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Wipelgem getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Karel Van Campenhout hit a great ball. Hemiksem's Charles-Antoine Berghmans couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 34th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Wipelgem. 37 minutes into the game, Greg Devriendt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hemiksem's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wipelgem the free kick. A collision led to Hemiksem getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Greg Devriendt hit a great ball. In the 38th minute, Tommy van Eycken reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jerome Baele. The goal made the score 2-0. If Ramon De Maijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 44 minutes, Toon Van Huele managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hemiksem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toon Van Huele was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Hemiksem getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Pieter-Jan De Schepper hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Wipelgem's Tomm Engelberchs in action when he in the 48th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Toon Van Huele kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Renaud Van Goitsenhoven was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 54th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy van Eycken in the 62nd minute of play forced Hemiksem's goalkeeper Jerome Baele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Hemiksem's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy van Eycken came free, but Jerome Baele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Wim Van de Velde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Tommy van Eycken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ramon De Maijer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Herbert Van Geertruyden made a huge save. Ramon De Maijer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Herbert Van Geertruyden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Tommy van Eycken sped through Hemiksem's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jerome Baele. Jerome Baele showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy van Eycken, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Stanny Vloeberghs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stanny Vloeberghs struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Jerome Baele didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wipelgem. Wipelgem's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
