In the 16th minute, Ramon De Maijer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Toon Van Huele kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Charles-Antoine Berghmans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Fighters Against Cancer's Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven got control of the ball when Ramon De Maijer tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 44th minute, Ramon De Maijer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sammy Van de Gaer to strike the kick off in the second half. Ramon De Maijer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Hemiksem booed when Fighters Against Cancer was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanny Tkint didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hemiksem's Sammy Van de Gaer got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Ramon De Maijer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hemiksem's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramon De Maijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Greg Devriendt kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Kristiaan van Goetsenhoven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon De Maijer in the 97th minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of Fighters Against Cancer were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Hemiksem side.
