Spectators: 7631 (Terracing: 5724, Seating: 1755, VIP seats: 152) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Remie Van Linthout took the kick off in the first half of the match. Harrie Vanbuyten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Augustijn De Raedemaecker having to make a save. After having played for 6 minutes, Remie Van Linthout managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Knutsegem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remie Van Linthout was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7th minute, Harrie Vanbuyten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Jorre Van Houdtvinck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 11 minutes into the game, Ricky Van Der Elst cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Lennart Vermeesch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Knutsegem's zone, Ricky Van Der Elst stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lennart Vermeesch came out of the goal and Ricky Van Der Elst tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lennart Vermeesch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorre Van Houdtvinck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Knutsegem's goal looked a bit too open when Jordi Dujardin came free, but Lennart Vermeesch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 played minutes Knutsegem got a freekick which was hit by Thibaud Van den Panhuijsen. Jorre Van Houdtvinck struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Lennart Vermeesch didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patro Maasmechelen. Jorre Van Houdtvinck scored 0-2 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lennart Vermeesch, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Remie Van Linthout received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Augustijn De Raedemaecker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frits Moerman kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. In the 43rd minute, Remie Van Linthout reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Augustijn De Raedemaecker. The goal made the score 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricky Van Der Elst to make the kick off. If Jorre Van Houdtvinck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harrie Vanbuyten might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Augustijn De Raedemaecker. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harrie Vanbuyten ran back to his position shaking his head. Augustijn De Raedemaecker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harrie Vanbuyten, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Patro Maasmechelen's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carel Vrankx in the 72nd minute. After a rather tough play, Patro Maasmechelen's Joos Hennes got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Jorre Van Houdtvinck kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Jorre Van Houdtvinck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Patro Maasmechelen's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorre Van Houdtvinck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lennart Vermeesch breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lennart Vermeesch stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ricky Van Der Elst's shot from short distance in the 84th minute. If Harrie Vanbuyten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 86 played minutes Patro Maasmechelen got a freekick which was hit by Georges Verduin.
