In the 6th minute Martin Van Laeck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenn Martens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Maaseik's Martin Van Laeck in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kenn Martens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Van Laeck in the 28th minute of the match. Maaseik's Mateo Buyck got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adam Mertens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kenn Martens having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, FC Kamping's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Van Laeck came free, but Kenn Martens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Yves Vandendriessche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Martin Van Laeck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kenn Martens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateo Buyck in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st match minute, FC Kamping was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jacque Denijs to maneuver through the defense. Kenn Martens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mateo Buyck, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The Maaseik fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when Maaseik's Martin Van Laeck looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half Maaseik were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martin Van Laeck to make the kick off. Kenn Martens was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dean Steckens showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-5 in the 53 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Kamping's zone, Martin Van Laeck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenn Martens came out of the goal and Martin Van Laeck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kenn Martens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Van Laeck in the 58th minute. 60 minutes into the game, FC Kamping's Wesley Van Beveren nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tomm Gallot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. Martin Van Laeck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kenn Martens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After having played for 64 minutes, Adam Mertens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maaseik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adam Mertens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Martin Van Laeck managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maaseik's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Van Laeck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kenn Martens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Martin Van Laecks short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Kenn Martens to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Kenn Martens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Van Laeck in the 71st minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Adam Mertens kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kenn Martens. That made the score 1-6 in the 76 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Van Laeck in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kenn Martens saved FC Kamping from getting behind. Dean Steckens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 83 minutes into the game, Martin Van Laeck recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Kenn Martens. Martin Van Laeck showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. When Dirk Lambrechts fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maaseik's protests and gave Dirk Lambrechts a yellow card for diving instead. Dirk Lambrechts kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Kenn Martens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Van Laeck in the 90th minute. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Maaseik's goalkeeper Tomm Gallot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mateo Buyck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Kenn Martens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Maaseik could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Kamping throughout the match.
