After a defensive mix-up in Ruislede's zone, Tuur Jacobs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Staf Armentier came out of the goal and Tuur Jacobs tried to chip the ball over his head. A collision led to Ruislede getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Gilles Mouton hit a great ball. Staf Armentier came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Rapid Arisdonk's Tuur Jacobs. But to his dismay, Tuur Jacobs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 19 minutes into the match, Ruislede's goal looked a bit too open when Marc Simons came free, but Staf Armentier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Martijn Camps sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Timothy Grootjans came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Ruislede fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timothy Grootjans couldn't finish the play. Qwinten Paschiers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timothy Grootjans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Staf Armentier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tuur Jacobs's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. Jakob Rutgeerts hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Qwinten Paschiers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martijn Camps in the 43rd minute. After having played for 46 minutes, Timothy Grootjans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ruislede's supporters crossed their fingers, but Timothy Grootjans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Martijn Camps had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tuur Jacobs was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ruislede's goalkeeper Staf Armentier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59thth minute of the game Timothy Grootjans who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rapid Arisdonk's Qwinten Paschiers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Staf Armentier successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Qwinten Paschiers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martijn Camps, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the game, Ruislede's Martijn Camps nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Qwinten Paschiers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Timothy Grootjans in the 81st minute of play forced Rapid Arisdonk's goalkeeper Qwinten Paschiers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Rapid Arisdonk's goal looked a bit too open when Martijn Camps came free, but Qwinten Paschiers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marc Simons succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 91st playminute.
