Spectators: 6726 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Timothy Grootjans started the match with the kick off. Edgard Vereeken took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Timothy Grootjans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ruislede's Martijn Camps got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeremy Blommaert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Staf Armentier having to interfere. In the last second Edgard Vereeken throw himself and got hold of the ball when Timothy Grootjans in the 17thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 20th minute, Timothy Grootjans left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ruislede fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Werner Coopmans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Staf Armentier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victor Lejeune during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ruislede getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Victor Lejeune hit a great ball. Staf Armentier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Werner Coopmans in the 41st minute of the match. If Martijn Camps had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edgard Vereeken was out of position in the 48 minute of play, and Gilles Mouton capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gilles Mouton really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When FC Helson's Jeremy Blommaert in 59 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Staf Armentier guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Jeremy Blommaert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Staf Armentier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Vereeken made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Timothy Grootjans in the 68th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Christoph Davus fired a really elegant long shot, but Staf Armentier threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 80th minute, Jeremy Blommaert fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Ruislede's zone, Werner Coopmans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Staf Armentier came out of the goal and Werner Coopmans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ruislede's Martijn Camps got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Martijn Camps received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Edgard Vereeken tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ruislede were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC Helson for a fine match.
