The crowd rose to their feet as KV Valkenberg's Julius Leyman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lennart Herinckx. That made the score 2-0 after 27 minutes of play. Lennart Herinckx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thibau Gijselinx in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Bass Omblets had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adolf De Spiegeleire. KV Valkenberg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bass Omblets was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Bass Omblets charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bass Omblets the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th minute, Bass Omblets hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 55th minute, Jannis De Pauw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of KV Valkenberg booed when KFC Gijzegem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Henskens didn't get a good kick on the ball.
