Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gert-Jan Scheerens made the kick off which started today's match. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Luuk Van Brusselen managed to get in a good position for a shot. KV Valkenberg's supporters rose to their feet, but Luuk Van Brusselen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gunter Vaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Octave Koppens hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute of the match Anton Van Beets sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gunter Vaes skillfully saved the ball. KV Valkenberg's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anton Van Beets in the 8th minute. A nice corner shot did that Thibau Gijselinx got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gunter Vaes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gunter Vaes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thibau Gijselinx in the 10th minute of play. In the 18th minute, Paul Robin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Gert-Jan Scheerens came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Opglabbeek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gert-Jan Scheerens couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the match, KV Valkenberg's Thibau Gijselinx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gunter Vaes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 30 minutes into the game, Opglabbeek's Waut Van Acker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Adolf De Spiegeleire made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gert-Jan Scheerens in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adolf De Spiegeleire prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jordy Van Goolen hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. In the 41st minute of the match Anton Van Beets shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gunter Vaes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, KV Valkenberg's Adolf De Spiegeleire got control of the ball when Waut Van Acker tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julius Leyman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Thibau Gijselinx to make the kick off. Jordy Van Goolen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert-Jan Scheerens in the 54th minute of play forced KV Valkenberg's goalkeeper Adolf De Spiegeleire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julius Leyman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Gunter Vaes made a huge save. Paul Robin was shown his second yellow card after 62 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, KV Valkenberg's Paul Robin got a free kick in the 63rd minute. When Opglabbeek's Gert-Jan Scheerens in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KV Valkenberg's goalie prevented a goal. The audience was convinced that Waut Van Acker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolf De Spiegeleire was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Daevy Uijterhove charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After having played for 79 minutes, Waut Van Acker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Opglabbeek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Waut Van Acker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Waut Van Acker might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adolf De Spiegeleire. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Waut Van Acker ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in KV Valkenberg's zone, Gert-Jan Scheerens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolf De Spiegeleire came out of the goal and Gert-Jan Scheerens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Waut Van Acker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adolf De Spiegeleire was relentless in the 87th minute of the game. Gert-Jan Scheerens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adolf De Spiegeleire having to make a save. Waut Van Acker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wannes Herremans was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 94th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Opglabbeek had played much better football throughout.
