Spectators: 6736 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 0) Opglabbeek's Gert-Jan Scheerens started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Opglabbeek's Gert-Jan Scheerens got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Octave Koppens during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 20 played minutes Opglabbeek got a freekick which was hit by Octave Koppens. When Rens Van Deyck fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Haneffe's protests and gave Rens Van Deyck a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, Haneffe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rens Van Deyck to maneuver through the defense. Waut Van Acker hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Gert-Jan Scheerens put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Carlos Suetens. In the 41st minute Waut Van Acker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Suetens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 44 minutes into the match, Haneffe's goal looked a bit too open when Waut Van Acker came free, but Carlos Suetens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gert-Jan Scheerens took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Suetens. Carlos Suetens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wouter Enfant during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Haneffe's Wouter Enfant got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Gert-Jan Scheerens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Haneffe's goalkeeper Carlos Suetens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Waut Van Acker got free with Carlos Suetens in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the match, Opglabbeek's Gert-Jan Scheerens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Suetens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Carlos Suetens made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Waut Van Acker sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gert-Jan Scheerens in the 68th minute of play forced Haneffe's goalkeeper Carlos Suetens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 72 in the game by Waut Van Acker from a close distance when the talented Carlos Suetens managed to make a qualified save. Haneffe's players were relieved. Gert-Jan Scheerens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Waut Van Acker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Suetens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gert-Jan Scheerens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Haneffe getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. William Eggermont hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the game, Wannes Herremans recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Suetens. Wannes Herremans showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Waut Van Acker kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Suetens. That made the score 0-4 in the 90 minute of play. When Gert-Jan Scheerens came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Opglabbeek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gert-Jan Scheerens couldn't finish the play.
