After having played for 3 minutes, Carlos Van Gorpt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KV Moerbeke's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Van Gorpt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When KV Moerbeke's Roel Cuelens in 5 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Maurus Leempoels guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After a rather tough play, KV Moerbeke's Sammy Simons got a free kick in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Deerlijk's goal looked a bit too open when Roel Cuelens came free, but Maurus Leempoels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Carlos Van Gorpt came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the KV Moerbeke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlos Van Gorpt couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the match, KV Moerbeke's goal looked a bit too open when Arend Van Geestel came free, but Edmond Kint reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Renaud Van Gertsuyden's late challenge caught a Deerlijk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Renaud Van Gertsuyden helped the player get up and apologised. Renaud Van Gertsuyden kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Edmond Kint made an important save on a dangerous shot by Refael Colebrants in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roel Cuelens in the 36th minute of play forced Deerlijk's goalkeeper Maurus Leempoels to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Alek Ruttens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roel Cuelens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 45 minutes into the game, Carlos Van Gorpt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Maurus Leempoels was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half KV Moerbeke were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Roel Cuelens to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Carlos Van Gorpt managed to get in a good position for a shot. KV Moerbeke's supporters rose to their feet, but Carlos Van Gorpt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maurus Leempoels breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maurus Leempoels made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Carlos Van Gorpt sent off a good shot on target. Maurus Leempoels was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Roel Cuelens showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 65 minute of play. In the 71st minute, Arend Van Geestel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, KV Moerbeke's goal looked a bit too open when Refael Colebrants came free, but Edmond Kint reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Carlos Van Gorpt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Deerlijk's Maurus Leempoels proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Deerlijk from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute, Arend Van Geestel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Refael Colebrants received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Edmond Kint tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 94 minutes into the match, KV Moerbeke's goal looked a bit too open when Arend Van Geestel came free, but Edmond Kint reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sammy Simons received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Maurus Leempoels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. KV Moerbeke walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
