Spectators: 6836 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Kent Meertens kicked off to start the match. Ricky Vuerinckx blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernd De Mees having to make a save. The Kessel-Lo fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when Kessel-Lo's Filip Velkeneers looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ricky Vuerinckx took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernd De Mees. Bernd De Mees dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Emile Van der Weijden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Bernd De Mees tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jeremie Tombeur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Filip Velkeneers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernd De Mees saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremie Tombeur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Filip Velkeneers scored 0-4 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernd De Mees, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Laurence Declercq's late challenge caught a SC Impegem's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Laurence Declercq helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute, one of Kessel-Lo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kessel-Lo. The referee gave SC Impegem a penalty, 39 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pierre-Olivier De Groote, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kessel-Lo's Alphonse Van der Perren. 1-4. In the 42nd minute, Emile Van der Weijden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Impegem's Bernd De Mees played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolaas Van Den Broek in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Filip Velkeneers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Impegem's Bernd De Mees was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 52nd minute Jeremie Tombeur suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Tristan Van Ghele fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Impegem's protests and gave Tristan Van Ghele a yellow card for diving instead. In the 57th minute, Stanny Kerkhofs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Filip Velkeneers took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Bernd De Mees to make any attempt to save it. Bernd De Mees took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filip Velkeneers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SC Impegem's Bernd De Mees proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save SC Impegem from getting a goal against them. After 68 minutes, Brent-Jan Wiggers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Impegem and the Kessel-Lo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th match minute, SC Impegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brent-Jan Wiggers to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Filip Velkeneers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernd De Mees was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. After 72 played minutes SC Impegem got a freekick which was hit by Kent Meertens. After having played for 74 minutes, Arsene Raes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kessel-Lo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arsene Raes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Ricky Vuerinckx took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Bernd De Mees to make any attempt to save it. After 81 played minutes SC Impegem got a freekick which was hit by Kent Meertens. Kessel-Lo's Arsene Raes got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Impegem's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Filip Velkeneers scored to the left of an out of position Bernd De Mees, making the score, 1-7. Filip Velkeneers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernd De Mees read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. If Nicolaas Van Den Broek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nicolaas Van Den Broek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Bernd De Mees tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alphonse Van der Perren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kent Meertens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match was over Kessel-Lo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Impegem throughout the match.
