The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The tension between the SC Impegem and the KV Moerbeke players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 played minutes SC Impegem got a freekick which was hit by Brent-Jan Wiggers. Harold Van Poucke struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Bernd De Mees didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KV Moerbeke. 22 minutes into the match, SC Impegem's goal looked a bit too open when Sammy Simons came free, but Bernd De Mees reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Van Gorpt to make the kick off. Bernd De Mees showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Van Gorpt, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Aaron Van Maestricht recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SC Impegem's Bernd De Mees played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Van Gorpt in the 59th minute of play. Aaron Van Maestricht hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Edmond Kint showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Meertens in the 70th minute of the match. If Kent Meertens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Carlos Van Gorpt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernd De Mees saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 94 minutes into the match, SC Impegem's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Van Gorpt came free, but Bernd De Mees reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
