Terry Vischkens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Mathy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Buggenhout's Frederic Roosendael played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Van Aghten in the 11th minute of play. After 13 minutes, Terry Vischkens made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. KAA Wauveringen's Jonathan Mathy tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Gregoire Koenens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gabriel Van Aghten succeeded in the game's 38th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-3. Jef van haeve's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Mathy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Terry Vischkens was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 42nd minute. Buggenhout's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 46th minute, Jef van haeve left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Buggenhout fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute KAA Wauveringen were awarded a corner. Fabrice Van Hoof went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Fabrice Van Hoof got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Frederic Roosendael quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 55 minutes into the match, KAA Wauveringen's goal looked a bit too open when Reinaert Thielens came free, but Jonathan Mathy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomm Van der Willeghem was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 59th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Gabriel Van Aghten might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frederic Roosendael. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Van Aghten ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th minute, Gabriel Van Aghten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68thth minute of the game Gabriel Van Aghten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buggenhout's Frederic Roosendael was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 70th minute of the match, Gabriel Van Aghten tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Frederic Roosendael saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gabriel Van Aghten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederic Roosendael having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Serge Van Gorpt during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Serge Van Gorpt hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Frederic Roosendael made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gabriel Van Aghten in the 79th minute of play. The supporters of KAA Wauveringen booed when Buggenhout was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Serge Van Gorpt didn't get a good kick on the ball. 82 minutes into the game, Giovanni Lijsens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Buggenhout's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KAA Wauveringen the free kick. The supporters of KAA Wauveringen booed when Buggenhout was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovanni Lijsens didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frederic Roosendael showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabriel Van Aghten in the 83rd minute of the match. 87 minutes into the match, KAA Wauveringen's Gregoire Koenens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frederic Roosendael narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gregoire Koenens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Frederic Roosendael tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frederic Roosendael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Van Aghten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
