Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ludo Schoutens started the match with the kick off. 2 minutes into the game, Andrew Tijs was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KAA Wauveringen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AFC Meerbeek the free kick. A collision led to KAA Wauveringen getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Andrew Tijs hit a great ball. Jonathan Mathy stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ludo Schoutens's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Christiaan Jonckers made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Gregoire Koenens sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Gabriel Van Aghten managed to get in a good position for a shot. KAA Wauveringen's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Van Aghten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christiaan Jonckers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gregoire Koenens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Christiaan Jonckers made a huge save. In the 12th minute Gabriel Van Aghten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christiaan Jonckers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ludo Schoutens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes in the game, Gabriel Van Aghten fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Christiaan Jonckers having to interfere. With a little luck, AFC Meerbeek's Christiaan Jonckers got control of the ball when Gregoire Koenens tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd minute of the match KAA Wauveringen got a corner. AFC Meerbeek's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabrice Van Hoof ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a rather tough play, AFC Meerbeek's Giovanny Dejonckheere got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the game, AFC Meerbeek's Ferdinand Schipmans nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Mathy made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Jarne De Lauw hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Christiaan Jonckers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gabriel Van Aghten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gregoire Koenens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiaan Jonckers having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gregoire Koenens got free with Christiaan Jonckers in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Gabriel Van Aghten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The KAA Wauveringen players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AFC Meerbeek were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gabriel Van Aghten stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A hard, long distance shot from Laurenz Leenders flew over the goal. Ferdinand Schipmans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Mathy having to interfere. In the 55th match minute, KAA Wauveringen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nico Buyck to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in KAA Wauveringen's zone, Ludo Schoutens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Mathy came out of the goal and Ludo Schoutens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ludo Schoutens in the 64th minute of play forced KAA Wauveringen's goalkeeper Jonathan Mathy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes AFC Meerbeek got a freekick which was hit by Laurenz Leenders. Gregoire Koenens struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Christiaan Jonckers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KAA Wauveringen. Gregoire Koenens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christiaan Jonckers having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Gabriel Van Aghten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christiaan Jonckers. AFC Meerbeek's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gabriel Van Aghten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. A collision led to AFC Meerbeek getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Kent Snyers hit a great ball. Christiaan Jonckers came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by KAA Wauveringen's Gregoire Koenens. But to his dismay, Gregoire Koenens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Thommy Van Craen kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gregoire Koenens in the 89th minute of play forced AFC Meerbeek's goalkeeper Christiaan Jonckers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christiaan Jonckers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gregoire Koenens in the 91st minute of play. Gabriel Van Aghten might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christiaan Jonckers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gabriel Van Aghten ran back to his position shaking his head. If Gregoire Koenens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. KAA Wauveringen had won after a very even match.
